Technology - Facebook have Test 'Tracking Feature'

Social network Facebook is currently testing a feature that allows users to receive notifications when there are updates from other users.

As quoted by the Telegraph site, a feature called 'Subscribe to' allows Facebook users can select where friends or family who want to be registered so that users can receive alerts or notifications when a friend or family did some activities on their Facebook profile.

"We were testing this feature on a small portion of our users," Facebook explains through its official statement.

With this feature, if someone wants to follow to update status, post new content such as photos, videos, links or notes, the user will get notification. This feature are a bit like follow feature on Twitter micro-blogging network. However, some expert regard these as a tool for spying on or following a person (stalking tool). The reason this feature is not only useful for families or friends who want to find out our activities, but also can be exploited by the enemies or people who have evil intentions.

Facebook itself has not yet confirmed, whether this subscription feature will actually be launched to all users or not.
